Title: Journal Policy

JOURNAL POLICY

Originality

Papers are accepted on the understanding that they have not been and will not be published elsewhere. Authors must ensure their manuscripts are original and are encouraged to check for plagiarism before submission. Any manuscript with more than 30% similarity (based on Turnitin) will not proceed to peer review.

Language Policy

The manuscript must be written in English.

Digital Archive

All published work in PJST will be archived on this website archive and the Malaysian Citation Centre's MyJurnal portal.

Open Access Statement

UTP Press publishes fully open-access journals. All articles are freely available to read, share and download. In accordance with publication ethics and best practices of scholarly publishing, authors and journals must be properly credited. All articles in the Journal are published open access under a Creative Commons Attribution license (CC BY 4.0).

All articles are accessible via the journal's website and selected indexing databases.

Copyright Policy

Upon acceptance, all papers will become the copyright of the journal. Authors will be required to transfer copyright to the Journal by completing a Copyright Transfer Form. This transfer allows for the widest possible dissemination of the published work.

If the manuscript includes excerpts or materials from other copyrighted works, the author(s) must obtain written permission from the original copyright holders and ensure that all sources are properly credited within the article.

Peer Review Policy

  1. PJST uses a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential to ensure an unbiased and fair evaluation.

  2. All submissions are first screened by the Editorial Board to ensure alignment with the journal’s aims and scope. Suitable papers are then sent to at least two independent reviewers. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:

    a.   Objective: The article must clearly state its aim and research objectives.

    b.   Originality and Scope: The content must be original, relevant to the journal’s scope, and contribute new knowledge or perspectives.

    c.   Methodology: The research design, methods, and procedures must be appropriate, well-described, and rigorous.

    d.   Data Accuracy and Reliability: All data presented must be accurate, valid, and reliable.

    e.   Discussion and Interpretation: Results must be thoroughly discussed, with logical and well-supported interpretations.

    f.    Depth of Analysis: The article should demonstrate critical analysis and in-depth examination of the subject matter.

    g.   Conclusion: The conclusion must be clear, concise, and supported by the findings.

  3. Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the Editorial Board will decide whether to accept, request revisions, or reject the paper. Authors will be notified of the decision within 60 days of submission and may track their manuscript status via the PJST website.
