Abstract
  • An information publication activity requires the right media, both in printed media and electronic/digital media. To find out the effectiveness of a media, an appropriate evaluation and measurement process is needed, one of which is efficiency measurement using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. The goal of using DEA is to evaluate and compare the performance (Zhu et al., 2014). The purpose of this research is to develop a web-based application to calculate efficiency by implementing Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The method used is the Waterfall development model (Sommerville, 2011), which divide the development process into five steps, (1) Requirements analysis and definition, (2) System and software design, (3) Implementation and unit testing, (4) Integration and system testing, and (5) Operation and maintenance. The developed application then tested to measure the efficiency value of creative industry information publications in Malang City using magazine media, conducted by the Department of Industry of Malang City. The results show that the application can calculate efficiency values based on input and output variables entered. Furthermore, the results of these calculations can be used as a basis for evaluating and improving the performance of information publications in the future.
