Abstract
  • A traceability system is a system that can record and trace product movements throughout the supply chain to ensure the security of the goods. In the context of honey industry, the tracing process is used to distinguish honey bottles from counterfeit ones in the market. Currently, there are multiple techniques to trace and store the tracing record, but none of them can guarantee the data integrity. In this study, blockchain is introduced as a method to address problem arising from the use of conventional commercial databases for the purpose of maintaining the credibility of the information and allowing data integration without third party involvement. In developing the mobile application, some important features namely QR code functionality and location detection were added in increase the system reliability. The project was later assessed by conducting alpha testing, block time monitoring, and error checking from within the blockchain and front-end components. The evaluation found that this system has met the distributed, verified, and immutable requirements.
