Abstract
  • Augmented Reality, also known as AR, is no longer a new concept as it is an irrevocable technology to our digital environment. A mobile application named AR @ Labuan Museum was made to revitalize the Labuan Museum visitor experience. It highlights 11 of the panels or artefacts related to the glorious era of British in Labuan which incorporates 11 types of Augmented Reality (AR) contents that come in videos and 3D model structures. A quantitative approach using a pre-test and post-test experiment to test the visitor learning outcome was used in this study to examine the adoption of AR in enhancing the visitor experience. 38 willing participants were recruited for the experiment, and the majority of them agreed that AR @ Labuan Museum app has raised their interest to learn Labuan’s history, is able to hold their attention and made it easier to connect to the exhibits. In conclusion, the usage of AR @ Labuan Museum in the museum is able to increase the learning outcome of visitors, meeting the expectation of visitors and provide a decent overall experience to the visitors.
