Abstract
  • The practice of diplomacy is undergoing significant transformations in the contemporary international system. While some scholars maintain that the core objectives of diplomacy—facilitating communication between states and preventing conflict—have remained constant, others argue that the methods, actors, and focus of diplomacy have evolved in response to technological advancements and globalization. This paper explores how these changes are reshaping diplomatic practices, focusing particularly on cultural diplomacy and science diplomacy. Additionally, the paper discusses the rise of multilateral diplomacy and contrasts the diplomatic dynamics of the Cold War period with those of the post-Cold War era. Ultimately, the paper concludes that the increasing scale and complexity of diplomatic interactions are driving substantial changes in the field of international relations.
