Penggunaan radionuklid 137Cs dalam kajian hakisan tanih jangka panjang

Abstract
  • Kajian hakisan tanih jangka panjang mengguna radionuklid 137Cs sebagai penyurih telah dilaksanakan di ladang jagung Little Landside, Devon, England. Persampelan tanih dalam kajian ini berdasarkan pendekatan transet, dan pengumpulan sampelsampel tanih dilakukan ketika musim sejuk 2004. Kajian melibatkan pengukuran kandungan 137Cs dalam tanih, dan analisis taburan semula tanih. Kandungan 137Cs bagi setiap sampel tanih diukur melalui penggunaan pengesan spektrometri gamma HPGe, manakala taburan semula tanih dianalisis melalui model keseimbangan jisim III. Pengukuran kandungan 137Cs mendapati nilai inventori adalah 23.4% lebih rendah daripada nilai rujukan inventori (2427.8 Bq m-2), dan ini membuktikan berlaku hakisan tanih di tapak inventori. Analisis taburan semula tanih pula mendapati keduadua transet mencatat jumlah hakisan antara ca. 92-100 t ha-1 thn-1, dan kehilangan tanih bersih berkadar antara ca. 90-93 t ha-1 thn-1. Bahagian atas cerun (dalam jarak 0-50 m) mencatatkan jumlah hakisan tanih tertinggi, dengan nilai purata 16.25 t ha-1 thn-1. Kadar hakisan tanih kasar tercatat sebanyak 7.2 t ha-1 thn-1, manakala kadar hakisan bersih pula adalah 6.4 t ha-1 thn-1. Keadaan ini menghasilkan nisbah pengeluaran sedimen sebanyak 89%. Kesimpulan daripada kajian ini dapat dinyatakan seperti berikut: kehilangan tanih adalah pada kadar yang sangat tinggi, dan berlaku mobiliti sedimen keluar daripada sempadan ladang yang mungkin digerakkan oleh air larian permukaan.
