Hubungan antara burnout dan penglibatan kerja dalam kalangan guru sekolah menengah

Abstract
  • Beban kerja dalam kalangan guru semakin mencabar saban tahun ditambahkan lagi dengan keperluan pembelajaran secara maya. Keadaan ini memberi kesan kepada tingkahlaku guru di tempat kerja seperti peningkatan burnout dan kurangnya penglibatan kerja. Justeru itu, kajian ini mengenalpasti hubungan antara burnout dan penglibatan kerja dalam kalangan guru di beberapa buah sekolah menengah di Johor. Reka bentuk kajian kuantitatif telah digunakan dengan menggunakan soal selidik Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) dan Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES). Sampel kajian adalah sebanyak 95 orang guru sekolah menengah. Hasil analisis korelasi menunjukkan dimensi keletihan emosi dan dipersonalisasi mempunyai hubungan negatif yang signifikan dengan penglibatan kerja, manakala pencapaian peribadi mempunyai hubungan signifikan yang positif dengan penglibatan kerja dalam kalangan guru. Kajian ini memberikan nilai tambah kepada pihak sekolah serta pengkaji akan datang dalam merancang dan melaksanakan strategi atau intervensi yang bersesuaian untuk mengurangkan burnout seterusnya meningkatkan penglibatan kerja dalam kalangan guru.
