This paper reviews the current status and future development direction of Mixed Reality (MR) technology in higher education through a literature review. It reveals that MR technology effectively improves students' participation, knowledge retention and practical operation ability by providing a highly interactive and immersive learning environment. At the same time, it points out that the widespread application of MR technology still faces challenges such as high hardware equipment costs, insufficient technical training for teachers and imperfect educational infrastructure. Through the analysis of the literature, future research directions are proposed, and it is recommended to promote the popularization and application of MR technology in the field of education through policy support, reduction of technology costs and strengthening of teacher training, so as to promote a more flexible and innovative education model.
