Abstract
  • This descriptive-relational research focused on determining the relationship between attitude and practices on pre-retirement planning among the pre-retiring personnel in one of the government agencies in the Philippines. Additionally, this research sought to describe these respondents with reference to their work-related characteristics whether these characteristics are associated with their attitude and practices in preparation for retirement. This research surveyed ninety (n=90) pre-retiring personnel. Descriptive statistics and the Chi-square test were utilized in analyzing the data. Analysis showed the attitude on pre-retirement planning of the pre-retiring personnel was unfavorable. Furthermore, the respondents have been practicing actions and activities to a great extent in preparation before they retire. The study also showed that respondents’ personal monthly income, length of service, and office position or designation are associated with their planning-related behavior before retiring. Finally, the study revealed that the pre-retiring personnel’s disposition on preparing before retirement is significantly related to their planning preparations before they retire from government service.
