Abstract
Manufacturing plays an important role in Malaysia's economic growth and can increase the country's gross domestic product (GDP). Hence, this study aims to examine several determinants of talent management in the aspect of work-life balance (WLB) and career development among manufacturing company employees. By using a quantitative research approach, the questionnaires were collected from 108 employees of a manufacturing company in Penang, Malaysia. The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) is used to analyse relevant data. The results showed a significant effect of WLB on talent attraction, talent retention, and talent engagement. Interestingly, career development presented significant effects only on talent engagement but not on talent attraction and talent retention. Therefore, taking the most appropriate actions to increase the level of talent management among employees can be the basis for the manufacturing sector. At the end of this study, some specific suggestions are proposed.
