Abstract
  • Physical activity in healthy lifestyles and eating habits is socially declining as a result of busy daily living and can lead to a deterioration of health. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the relationship between physical fitness level based on health and body mass index (BMI) among FELDA secondary school pupils in Kuantan, Pahang. The study was conducted using a quantitative method of cross-sectional study using a questionnaire instrument adapted from the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ) and Fitness test. The sample of this study consisted of 402 FELDA students comprising of 193 boys and 209 girls aged 16 years old. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis that was Pearson Correlation analysis to test the research objective using SPSS version 23.0. The study found that there was a significant relationship between the level of physical fitness based on health and the Body Mass Index (BMI). The more students do physical activity or exercise, there is a higher chance that the Body Mass Index (BMI) are in the Ideal category. The implication of this study is providing information on the level of physical fitness based on health among high school students.
