Abstract
With environmental sustainability becoming increasingly imperative, educational institutions worldwide are embracing the concept of "green campuses" as a proactive approach toward environmental conservation. The implementation of green campus initiatives has been recognized as a practical method with the potential to benefit both the environment and surrounding communities. However, the positive impact of these initiatives is not without challenges, as unintended shortcomings may arise over time. In response, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perak Branch (UiTMCP), Malaysia, has taken proactive steps to incorporate green elements within its campus to enhance environmental sustainability. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of these initiatives by assessing the satisfaction levels of campus residents, including both students and staff. The total population involved in this study is 7,153 individuals. Based on the Slovin formula, the appropriate sample size was determined to range between 99 to 198 respondents. A cross-sectional research design was employed using a quantitative approach, and a total of 148 respondents were selected using simple random sampling, ensuring unbiased representation across the population. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency distribution, percentages, and mean score analysis. The results revealed that all 26 subfactors significantly contributed to the satisfaction levels of campus residents regarding the green initiatives at UiTMCP. Each subfactor recorded high satisfaction, with mean scores exceeding 3.51. The involvement of residents in adopting green practices played a pivotal role in strengthening campus sustainability. These findings provide valuable insights for UiTMCP in fostering continuous innovation, implementing informed regulations, and promoting eco-conscious behaviors among students, staff, and faculty contributing meaningfully to national and global environmental goals.
