Abstract
This study explores the role of TikTok in enhancing English language skills from the perspectives of university students at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), a university in northern Malaysia. With the rise of digital platforms as informal learning tools, TikTok’s short-form videos present a unique opportunity for language acquisition. The research aims to examine whether students improve specific skills such as pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and listening through engagement with TikTok content. A questionnaire was administered to university students to gather insights on their experiences and perceptions of TikTok as an English learning aid. The findings reveal that most respondents view TikTok positively as a platform for enhancing their English skills, particularly in pronunciation and vocabulary development. This suggests that TikTok has significant potential as a supplementary resource for language learners, fostering both skill improvement and motivation in English language learning.
