  • This study determines the different factors associated with the extent of participation in civic and political activities of Youth Council in the Province of Iloilo, Philippines. This is a descriptive correlational study employing one-shot survey using researcher made questionnaire. A total of 183 respondents were drawn using simple random sampling. Findings revealed that the personal characteristics of respondents influenced their extent of participation in civic and political activities. They viewed civic and political activities as “moderately relevant” and their extent of civic and political participation turned out to be “slight level of participation”. The personal characteristics of respondents and socializing agents were not significant while the perception on the relevance of civic and political activities is significantly related to their level of civic and political participation. It means that the more they perceived the relevance of the civic and political activities, the more they will participate.
