Cabaran sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan mendepani pandemik covid-19 di Malaysia

Abstract
  • Kertas konsep ini memberi penumpuan terhadap cabaran sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan. Meneroka isu yang dihadapi sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan di Malaysia semasa menjalankan misi bantuan, akan membantu menyokong mereka dan mengembangkan peranan dan rancangan untuk meningkatkan kesediaan mereka di lapangan. Oleh itu, tinjauan ini meneroka cabaran yang dihadapi oleh sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan dan tindak balas mereka terhadap krisis pandemik COVID-19. Cabaran sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan semakin meningkat sejak pandemik COVID-19 melanda dunia. Peranan sukarelawan kesihatan tidak dapat dinafikan pentingnya di lapangan. Sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan sering dikatakan sebagai tulang belakang dalam melaksanakan bantuan kemanusiaan terutamanya kepada agensi-agensi kerajaaan dan Badan Bukan Kerajaan (NGO). Namun demikian, perkembangan terhadap aktiviti kesukarelawanan penjagaan kesihatan masih tidak mencukupi dan perlu diberi perhatian kerana ia berada pada tahap yang kurang memuaskan. Manakala ada juga dalam kalangan sukarelawan yang masih kekurangan pengalaman, latihan serta persediaan terutama dalam menangani pandemik COVID-19. Isu ini mula dilihat secara jelas apabila kerajaan Malaysia, di bawah Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) menyeru lebih ramai sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan tampil bagi membantu KKM memerangi isu pandemik COVID-19. Sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan cenderung dan berpotensi untuk memberikan sokongan yang besar kepada kerajaan dan NGO. Ini diharap mampu untuk menjadi inspirasi kepada sukarelawan penjagaan kesihatan untuk membantu menangani pandemik COVID-19 selain menyumbang kepada kesejahteraan psikologi dan pembangunan sosial masyarakat. Oleh itu, kertas konsep disediakan untuk mengupas cabaran secara mendalam agar dapat meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan sukarelawan seterusnya keberkesananan mereka dalam memberi bantuan mendepani gelombang pandemik COVID-19 kepada masyarakat selain dapat menyumbang bakti dan tenaga kepada negara.
