Greenwashing practices have become a pressing issue and often creates confusion among stakeholders. Because of this, there is a critical need for an innovative teaching approach to encourage higher education students to engage with ethic and sustainable marketing. Hence, this paper investigates the use of a showcase activity on greenwashing as a pedagogical approach to teaching marketing ethics. The activity was performed with undergraduate marketing students in a public higher learning institute in Sabah, who were given tasks with identifying and presenting real-life cases of greenwashing, followed by written reflections on their learning experience. The analysis was performed using Quirkos software to arrange and group the information into themes. Five key themes were identified, showing how students gained benefits from the activity. The findings confirm the combination of using showcase activity and followed by reflection practices significantly support leaning outcomes and aids in developing professional skills among students. This study implies that incorporating the two approaches can strengthen sustainable marketing curricula and prepare future professionals to identify, analyse and respond to sustainable issues. This study underlines the benefits of potential reflective practices as complementary approach to showcase activity providing a strong model in teaching sustainable marketing.
