The emotional needs of the current employees in the China office are the main subject of this research, which focuses on the implications for office interior design. In full consideration of emerging social-cultural trends and technological innovation, there is a rising trend towards integrating emotional components into office design philosophy. Through thematic analysis of qualitative data, three key themes emerged: affective support and feelings of both comfort and security, social learning and teamwork, as well as independence and control over the working space. Research revealed that workers are most satisfied when they feel the workplace they work at provides a feeling of safety, facilitates social connection, and gives them a chance to design the environment. Recommendations might include working spaces offering variety that take different preferences into account and the establishment of a culture that favours collaboration and communication. Organizations will develop working spaces that are emotionally focused thus improving the overall well-being of the employees. Therefore, this research argued for the critical role of emotions in the configuration of the workplace environment and offered real-world suggestions for creating supportive and emotionally-rich office spaces in China and the world to improve employee well-being.
