Abstract
  • Abstrak: Antara faktor penentu kejayaan Program Pendidikan Inklusif (PPI) adalah perspektif positif terhadap pelaksanaan program ini di sekolah. Kajian ini adalah mengenai perspektif ibu bapa dari aspek pengetahuan terhadap pendidikan inklusif secara am, di mana  perspektif ibu bapa yang mempunyai anak kurang upaya dan anak tipikal menjadi fokus utama. Kajian ini merupakan sebuah tinjauan kuantitatif melalui keratan rentas yang melibatkan seramai 100 orang ibu bapa dalam daerah Bintulu, Sarawak. Mereka terdiri daripada 50 orang ibu bapa kepada murid berkeperluan pendidikan khas dan 50 orang ibu bapa murid tipikal yang dipilih secara persampelan rawak mudah untuk menjawab edaran soal selidik secara hibrid iaitu dalam bentuk Google Form dan secara bertulis. Maklum balas responden dianalisis menggunakan perisian Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) untuk menghasilkan data deskriptif merangkumi kekerapan, peratusan, dan min. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan min pengetahuan umum (min = 2.55) dan pengetahuan impak (min = 2.68) ibu bapa terhadap program pendidikan inklusif adalah sederhana. Kesimpulannya, ibu bapa harus memerlukan bimbingan daripada pelbagai pihak berkepentingan agar maklumat yang komprehensif boleh membantu mereka memahami implikasi tindakan mereka.

    Abstract: Among the factors that determine the success of the Inclusive Education Program (PPI) is a positive perspective on the implementation of this program in schools. This study is about the perspective of parents from the aspect of knowledge about inclusive education in general, where the perspective of parents with disabled children and typical children is the main focus. This study is a quantitative cross-sectional survey involving a total of 100 parents in Bintulu district, Sarawak. They consisted of 50 parents of students with special educational needs and 50 parents of typical students who were selected by simple random sampling to answer the questionnaire in a hybrid form that is in the form of Google Form and in writing. Respondent responses were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software to produce descriptive data including frequency, percentage, and mean. The findings of the study show that the mean of general knowledge (mean = 2.55) and knowledge of the impact (mean = 2.68) of parents towards inclusive education programs is moderate. In conclusion, parents should need guidance from various stakeholders so that comprehensive information can help them understand the implications of their actions.
