Abstract
  • The IR4.0 simulation technology has been utilised within food and beverage (F&B) industry to examine, learn and verify thru modelling. This study aims is to simulate the effectiveness of the queueing system of a restaurant in Klang Valley and propose an alternative, by utilise ARENA software. The data collected thru non-participant observation of each recorded interval time. The ARENA simulation software utilised to create current model, and model undergoes verification and validation before analysis the simulation findings. The findings showed bottleneck in the counter section. The recommended QR code ordering system exhibits better performance, in which reduce customer average total waiting time from 67.813 minutes to 29.567 minutes, and total time spent from 139.290 minutes to 97.550 minutes. Besides, the employee utilization rates also reduced from 87.03 percent and 77.40 percent. The study provided for the restaurant as it focuses on the critical need to improve the effectiveness and utilisation of its resource’s allocation, in which able to contribute to the green economy development.
