Abstract
  • Living at a time of pervasive difficulties has had a profound effect on educational establishments, resulting in a paradigm change in the field of education. Online learning is a new alternative that has become essential to the academic environment. As such, the competence of teachers is essential to maintaining the caliber of learning activities. This paper outlines the theoretical underpinnings, important discoveries, and historical context around the competency of lecturers as a major component in improving university students' online learning experiences. The goal of the study is to contextualize lecturers' competency, which has been found to be important in enhancing the online learning environment, and to advocate for additional relevant research to further enhance the situation.
