Abstract
  • Mosques play a vital role in the Islamic community. Basically, mosques have been developed not only as places of worship, but also to function as a center for various aspects of Islamic community development. Effective facilities management lead to well and enhanced workplaces especially mosques, which is an important place to perform our obligations. On the other hand, when negligence occurs in facilities management this automatically will have an impact on mosque organizational routine. The aim of the study for this paper is to investigate the challenges in implementation facilities management in mosque. The objectives is to determine the challenges of lack facilities management provided in mosque to users. This study used quantitative approach and questionnaire survey as the data collection instrument. The data were collected from worshippers, visitors, facilities management team and the organization management team in mosque. The findings show the top three main elements of the challenges in managing the mosque facilities provided are lack of attention of conducive physical environment, community development approach is not user or youth or family or community-friendly and poor financial management to implement mosque community services. Addressing these challenges requires a collaborative effort from mosque administrators, community members, and relevant stakeholders. By recognizing and actively working to overcome these obstacles, mosque facilities can continue to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for worship, community engagement, and spiritual growth.
