Abstract
  • Kemarahan merupakan emosi yang sering dialami setiap individu hasil tindak balas kepada punca kemarahan. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti i) teori yang digunakan dalam menangani kemarahan murid dan ii) strategi, kemahiran dan teknik digunakan oleh guru bimbingan dan kaunseling dalam menangani kemarahan murid. Reka bentuk kajian ialah secara tinjauan dengan melibatkan seramai 179 orang guru-guru bimbingan dan kaunseling yang dipilih melalui pensampelan bertujuan. Sampel guru terlibat adalah daripada sekolah di empat buah negeri di zon utara Semenanjung Malaysia iaitu di Perlis, Kedah, Pulau Pinang dan Perak. Dapatan dianalisis secara analisis tematik iaitu dengan mengenal pasti tema dan sub tema utama. Keputusan menunjukkan bahawa guru bimbingan dan kaunseling menggunakan Teori Pemusatan Insan, Teori Tingkah Laku, Teori Rasional Emotif Tingkah Laku, Teori Gestalt dan Teori Realiti semasa mengendalikan isu kemarahan murid. Majoriti didapati menggunakan pendekatan Kognitif Tingkah laku. Strategi digunakan ialah seperti kaunseling individu, bimbingan, kerohanian serta lawatan ke rumah murid. Manakala kemahiran asas kaunseling yang digunakan dalam mengendalikan kes kemarahan murid ialah kemahiran mendengar, memujuk, memberi perhatian serta membina hubungan mesra atau rapport. Teknik yang digunakan pula ialah menstrukturkan semula kognitif, relaksasi, terapi seni, main peranan serta kerusi kosong. Dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan kepelbagaian teori, strategi, kemahiran dan teknik yang diaplikasikan guru bimbingan dan kaunseling bagi membantu murid menangani kemarahan. Intervensi pelbagai yang dipraktikkan ini memerlukan usaha dan komitmen guru yang tinggi bagi membantu murid menangani kemarahan mereka secara optimum.
