Abstrak: Guru besar merupakan nadi utama dalam menentukan kualiti dan kejayaan sekolah. Amalan kepimpinan yang berkesan oleh guru besar dapat menggerakkan sekolah ke arah kecemerlangan. Keberkesanan kepimpinan guru besar merangkumi keupayaan, pemikiran dan sikap dalam mengurus guru untuk mencapai visi, misi dan matlamat bersama. Kertas konsep ini menitikberatkan amalan kepimpinan transformasi guru besar dan kesannya terhadap motivasi guru. Kajian menunjukkan kepimpinan transformasi mempengaruhi motivasi guru dalam mencapai objektif sekolah. Masalah beban kerja dan kurangnya tantangan juga merendahkan motivasi guru. Kepimpinan transformasi yang merangkumi aspek kepimpinan karismatik, merangsang intelek, timbang rasa dan motivasi inspirasi dapat membantu meningkatkan motivasi guru.
Abstract: The headmaster serves as the primary driving force in determining the quality and success of a school. Effective leadership practices by the headmaster can propel the school towards excellence. The effectiveness of the headmaster’s leadership encompasses abilities, thinking and attitudes in managing teachers to achieve the shared vision, mission and goals. This concept paper emphasizes the transformative leadership practices of headmasters and their impact on teacher motivation. Research indicates that transformative leadership influences teacher motivation in achieving school objectives. Issues such as workload burdens and lack of challenges also diminish teacher motivation. Transformative leadership encompassing charismatic leadership aspects, stimulating intellect, emotional balance and inspirational motivation can help enhance teacher motivation.
