Abstract
  • The study examines the relationship between board diversity and financial performance in listed firms in Iraq. The aim of this study is to examine how board diversity affects financial performance in listed firms in Iraq. The research framework has happened based on agency theories and addresses gaps in the current literature. A sample size of the study 50 companies listed on the Iraqi stock exchange for the fiscal years 2015-2022, with data collected from annual reports. The data will be analyses using e.g. regression and the software to be used such as Stata to test the final hypotheses of the proposed model. This Be modest empirical study in Iraq integrates Board Diversity contributing to the existing body of knowledge in Financial Performance research. A few things, like the occurrence of financial crises, largely limit their ability to grow. This study is complimenting the previous studies by investigating how board diversity affects financial performance. Hence, our study contributed to the literature and practitioners by extending the agency theories and providing guidelines to policy makers about improving financial performance. While many studies have examined corporate governance in financial and non-financial companies listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange, few have focused specifically on financial performance in non-financial listed companies, addressing a critical gap in the research. Furthermore, although many previous studies have attentive on corporate governance financial and non- financial listed company Iraq stock exchange, few have focused on just financial performance in non- financial Iraq listed company.
