Perbezaan literasi kewangan berdasarkan jantina dalam kalangan belia berpendidikan tinggi di Melaka

Abstract
  • Cabaran kehidupan yang kompleks pada masa kini berpunca daripada persekitaran ekonomi yang mencabar serta perkembangan pesat produk dan perkhidmatan kewangan memerlukan belia memiliki literasi kewangan yang tinggi untuk membuat keputusan yang lebih kompleks daripada sebelumnya. Hasil kajian rintis terhadap 30 orang responden mendapati bahawa nilai Alfa Cronbach adalah dalam kategori kebolehpercayaan tinggi dan memuaskan (0.80 hingga 0.95). Seramai 316 responden belia di daerah Melaka Tengah, Melaka berumur 30 tahun ke bawah yang terdiri daripada belia berpendidikan tinggi iaitu sekurang-kurangnya telah memiliki diploma di universiti awam Malaysia telah mengambil bahagian dalam kajian ini dengan menggunakan teknik persampelan bertujuan. Data kajian ini dianalisis menggunakan SPSS versi 27.0 dengan melibatkan analisis deskriptif (min dan sisihan piawai) serta analisis inferensi (ujian-t sampel tidak bersandar). Hasil kajian mendapati tahap literasi kewangan dalam kalangan belia berpendidikan tinggi di Melaka Tengah, Melaka bagi lelaki dan perempuan masih berada di tahap sederhana tinggi. Di samping itu, hasil daripada ujian-t sampel tidak bersandar mendapati tidak terdapat perbezaan tahap literasi kewangan antara belia lelaki dan perempuan di lokasi kajian. Implikasinya, kajian ini dapat menyumbang kepada literatur kajian literasi kewangan terhadap belia di Malaysia mengikut tetapan takrifan umur belia terkini iaitu 15 hingga 30 tahun untuk menyokong usaha Kementerian Belia dan Sukan Malaysia (KBS) membuat perancangan, pelaksanaan dan penyelarasan program pembangunan belia mengikut kategori sasaran belia khususnya bagi belia pengajian tinggi. Oleh itu, kajian ini turut mencadangkan agar ahli-ahli Jaringan Pendidikan Kewangan (FEN) dapat menjadikan capaian maklumat asas pendidikan kewangan seperti seperti kesedaran produk kewangan, pengurusan kewangan harian, simpanan dan pinjaman serta perancangan kewangan jangka panjang dapat disesuaikan mengikut lapisan umur masyarakat.
