Abstract
  • This study explores the themes of A Dream of Red Mansions from the following two key perspectives: Cross-Cultural Communication and Interdisciplinary Integration. Drawing from the religious-philosophical metaphors, the tragic aesthetic structures, and expressions of feminine consciousness, as well as guided by the communication philosophy of textual openness, it investigates how this novel is interpreted in English-language academic journals. Additionally, by comparing the ethical concept of family power in Chinese and Western classical literature, and applying approaches such as social network analysis, garden metaphors, and dress metaphors, the study reveals how these concepts such as “Differential Order Pattern” and “Confucian Sentiment” in Chinese secular narratives are treated as distinctive narrative structures. From a cross-cultural communication perspective, the study highlights the differences in translation strategies among various scholars and also examines the temporal and spatial variations in the novel’s aesthetic reception. Overall, the paper offers a methodological reference for the modern interpretation of classical literature.
