Abstract
  • Traditional Chinese painting stands as an emblem of cultural resilience and adaptability, evolving through the influx of global influences while retaining its distinctive philosophical roots. This study investigates the global journey of this art form, examining the interplay between preservation of its heritage and adaptation in response to the modern world. The research employs a qualitative and comparative methodology, drawing on art historical research, cultural analysis, and an exploration of technological innovation's role in contemporary expressions of traditional Chinese painting. By engaging with sources ranging from ancient philosophical texts to modern scholarly discourse, this study underscores the duality of tradition and modernity within Chinese painting. It further analyzes the integration of Western techniques and the transformative impact of digital technology, considering the implications for cultural identity, artistic innovation, and global art dialogue. The findings reveal that the evolution of Chinese painting not only enhances its expressive potential but also contributes to its universal appeal and pedagogical practices. The art form's journey into the digital age underscores its continued relevance and adaptability. As traditional Chinese painting intersects with new media and global audiences, it exemplifies the dynamic synthesis of cultural heritage and contemporary innovation. This study contributes to a broader understanding of how art forms can maintain their essence while engaging with the global community, inviting further exploration into the sustained vitality of cultural expressions in a connected world.
