Abstract
  • Understanding the influence and mechanism of person-environment fit (P-E Fit) on job engagement of vocational teachers is essential for building a high-quality vocational education. A survey and data analysis of 376 vocational teachers in Hebei Province reveal that different types of P-E Fit (person-organization fit, person-job fit, person-group fit, and person-supervisor fit) are significantly positively correlated with job engagement among vocational teachers. When considering multiple types of P-E Fit simultaneously, person-group fit emerges as the most crucial factor influencing job engagement. Additionally, psychological needs satisfaction plays a potential mediating role in the relationship between P-E Fit and job engagement. Therefore, efforts should be made to improve P-E Fit from four perspectives—person-job, person-group, person-supervisor, and person-organization—to enhance job engagement of vocational teachers.
