Abstract
  • The use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in early childhood education (ECE) is growing rapidly, significantly enriching children's learning experiences. These technologies offer the ability to personalize educational activities based on each child's individual strengths and weaknesses, thereby providing a more tailored approach to learning. Previous studies have demonstrated that AI can enhance teaching and learning within ECE; however, there remains a lack of understanding regarding the practical implementation of these tools in real-world settings. This review examines four eligible research studies conducted in the United States, Japan, India, and Malaysia between 2020 and 2024. While the body of research on this topic is still limited, the findings provide valuable insights into how AI can support children's knowledge acquisition, tools, activities, and overall impact. The majority of the studies indicate that AI has positively influenced children's understanding of AI concepts, robotics, computer science, and machine learning. Additionally, it has been shown to enhance children's creativity, emotional regulation, cooperative learning, reading comprehension, and analytical thinking. Further research is essential to effectively integrate AI technologies into early childhood education environments.
