Abstract
  • SMEs are facing with many barriers and challenges in international competition with limited resources. Digitalization in international trade gives SMEs more opportunities to access global market. However, to adopt cross-border e-commerce (CBEC) requires new concepts of resources for SMEs. The primary objective of this paper is to identify resources required to enhance SMEs' performance in digital export. This conceptual paper reviews the literatures on firm resources and export performance and CBEC adoption as an export channel. The review indicates CBEC as a mediator on the relationships between SMEs' technological and human resources and their export performance.
