Abstract
  • Assessment practices have been widely used for many years ago and play major roles in counselling services. One of the controversial issues that have been continuously discussed in counselling literature is about the use of assessment with culturally diverse clients. This article explains about the role of assessment in counselling practices and how it functions within counsellors and clients’ therapeutic relationship. Issues and challenges of applying multicultural assessment is also discussed in this paper with the intention to create awareness about the dilemmas related to the applications of assessment in counselling field. Several strategies on developing and making multicultural assessments fairer are also provided.
