University Students’ Satisfaction Survey Towards the Usage of Dynamic Cultivator Blade (DCB) As A Replacement of Conventional Cultivation Tools During Field Work Course
Agricultural education depends heavily on efficient tools to enhance students' knowledge of farming techniques. Traditional land preparation instruments, such as hoe, are frequently inefficient and time-consuming, resulting in student discontent and delayed assignments. In response to these obstacles, the Dynamic Cultivator Blade (DCB) was developed, which streamlines soil and bed preparation by simplifying weeding and ploughing tasks. The purpose of this study was to evaluate student satisfaction with the DCB as a replacement for conventional instruments in fieldwork courses. The DCB was demonstrated to first-semester diploma students enrolled in the Field Work 1 (FPA100) course. Based on previous research, 42 randomly selected students were given a questionnaire to assess their level of satisfaction. The study found that 85.7% of respondents rated the DCB as highly user-friendly, indicating its effectiveness in simplifying duties. Moreover, 85.7% of students agreed that the DCB substantially reduced weed removal time. The majority (78.6%) expressed a strong desire to use the DCB for fieldwork, demonstrating its potential to enhance the learning experience. Results indicate that innovative instruments such as the DCB can enhance student engagement, facilitate experiential learning, and ultimately contribute to the advancement of agricultural practices.
