Abstract
With an emphasis on comprehending the difficulties faced by hotel managers, this study examines the maintenance management practices of 4-star hotels in Ipoh, Perak. The study intends to determine which 4-star hotels in Ipoh, Perak now use maintenance management techniques, as well as the difficulties that hotel managers encounter. Open-ended interviews with hotel managers are used to gather primary data, which is then complemented by secondary data from pertinent literature using a qualitative research methodology. The results highlight important topics pertaining to maintenance management procedures, such as the value of preventative maintenance, employee education, and operational technology integration. The study also emphasizes the difficulties hotel managers encounter, including financial limitations and the requirement for ongoing employee training. By focusing insight into the operational dynamics of 4-star hotels and making suggestions for improving maintenance management procedures, the study expands to the amount of knowledge presently accessible in the field of hospitality management. It highlights how important it is to encourage a culture of honest evaluation and open communication among hotel employees in order to increase operational effectiveness and visitor satisfaction. The study's effective recognition of the particular 4-star hotels, recognition of the different maintenance management techniques they apply, and highlighting of the difficulties hotel managers encounter in ensuring operational effectiveness and guest satisfaction indicate that the research objectives were accomplished.
