Abstract
  • Managing jury evaluations for large-scale innovation events can be challenging, particularly when it comes to ensuring fair scoring, minimizing manual work, and maintaining data consistency. During the iDRIVE 2025 exhibition organized by Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, a new digital evaluation platform was introduced to address these issues. Built using Google Sheets and integrated with GitHub, the system enabled jurors to carry out their assessments remotely using personalized scoring sheets. Each sheet was designed to be secure and automated, allowing scores to be recorded accurately through simple checkbox selections and timestamped using built-in scripting. The platform operated through a phone-number-based access method, removing the need for login credentials or email invitations. With more than 100 jurors evaluating nearly 300 entries, the system ran smoothly and required minimal technical support. Feedback from the organizing team pointed to reduced administrative overhead and smoother coordination throughout the evaluation period. This approach highlights how common, cloud-based tools can be adapted to support efficient and scalable jury evaluation, especially in academic and research-driven settings.
