Hubungan Asean-Sino: antara order Asia atau dilema “China’s rise”

Abstract
  • Di Asia Timur, beberapa hubungan telah berkembang sebanyak yang antara China dan Persatuan Negara-negara Asia Tenggara. Walaupun perbezaan yang penting kekal, hubungan telah melihat peningkatan yang ketara sepanjang dekad yang lalu, terutamanya apabila dibandingkan dengan syak wasangka yang besar yang pernah ditakrifkan hubungan mereka. Kertas kajian ini adalah untuk melihat sejauh mana hubungan dua hala ASEAN-China mampu membentuk kerjasama dalam konteks politik, keselamatan dan ekonomi selain mengupas mengenai strategi kedua pihak dalam mengendalikan isu-isu strategik. Justeru, bagi mendalami kefahaman mengenai perkara pokok kajian ini, beberapa aspek turut dibincangkan secara ringkas antaranya sejarah penubuhan ASEAN, latar belakang hubungan dua hala ASEAN-China dan penglibatan China dalam multilateral ASEAN. Di samping itu, kertas kajian ini turut membuat analisis hubungan dua hala kedua pihak.
