Effect of Drugs Abuse and Other Intoxicating Substance on Muslim Youth in Contemporary Society, in Yobe State Nigeria
Drug abuse considered a problem that causes by many factors existing in a community some of them are political, lack of Islamic knowledge awareness and social impact which is resulting in stealing, cheating, destroying life, robbery, medical effect, ripe, prostitution. The nation today is experiencing untold hardship in trying to reduce the case of drug abuse in Yobe State. The prevailing moral decadence resulting from drug abuse becomes a serious matter of concern among youth. It is in light of these that the research embarked on this research work. This research attempt to identify the problems of drug abuse among youth in Yobe State, Nigeria. The research interacted with the affected individual with the fiscal interview by using Yes and No scale for providing an answer to the respective questions applied to them. The population used in the research is (100) individuals. The finding indicates many problems drags them to such drug addiction and interacting with intoxicant substances, such as peer groups socially, economically and poverty. Some recommendations were made for a better society and reduce the number of affected individuals.
