Abstract
  • Skor purata Geometri adalah tertinggi dalam Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) 2019. Namun, skor tersebut masih berada di bawah skala tengah. Penggunaan perwakilan matematik sangat penting dalam membantu pembelajaran matematik yang efektid. Oleh itu, buku teks sebagai sumber utama dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran matematik seharusnya menggunakan perwakilan matematik untuk menjelaskan konsep matematik yang abstrak dengan jelas, Justeru itu, kajian analisis kandungan buku teks ini dilaksanakan untuk mengenalpasti penggunaan perwakilan matematik dalam topik Ruang buku teks matematik Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Tahun 4 dan Tahun 5 berdasarkan Model Lesh. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa kelima-lima jenis perwakilan dalam Model Lesh telah digunakan dalam topik Ruang dalam kedua-dua buku teks matematik tersebut. Walaubagaimanapun, kajian ini juga mendapati bahawa tahap penggunaan perwakilan matematik dalam topik Ruang bagi kedua-dua buku teks tersebut masih sangat rendah. Maka, usaha penambahbaikan lanjutan diperlukan bagi meningkatkan kualiti kandungan topik Ruang dalam buku teks matematik.
