Abstract
Within China's social work education system, the Introduction to Social Work course is an introductory and foundational course for undergraduate students in the discipline. Currently, passive learning is widely spread and the communication between students and teachers is insufficient. Besides, the old teaching cases are used in the course which makes the course lose its real-world value. What’s more, the assessment system is shallow and single dimensional. This study takes the teaching reform based on constructivism into account and tries to solve these problems. The framework of teaching reform has three components: reconstructing curricular content, implementing innovative teaching methods and establishing a diversified evaluation system. This study constructs a teaching model which is "based on theory and focused on practice". The framework has a guiding significance for reforming the social work curriculum.
