Abstract
  • This study was intended to investigate the effect of transformative leadership on organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB) and the moderating effect of job satisfaction and affective employee commitment on the relationship between transformative leadership and OCB in Abu Dhabi in UAE. The corporate sector in Abu Dhabi is lacking performance with ill behaviour of employees. The role of leadership is not considered as important in the organizational performance of Abu Dhabi. The present study is using social exchange theory to provide a theoretical background for the research. Data were garnered using questionnaires from a sample of 372 government entities employees out of 10200 population in Abu Dhabi. Descriptive research design and quantitative research paradigm were used to conduct the research study. Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) and the bootstrapping technique were used to test the hypotheses. The study findings disclosed that transformative leadership can improve the organizational citizenship behaviour attitude of corporate sector employees in Abu Dhabi. The study concludes that transformative leadership can improve the OCB in corporate sector of Abu Dhabi. The researcher recommends that the organisations in Abu Dhabi should periodically keep organizing continuous seminars on training and mentoring which may emphasize the importance of positive behaviours at the workplace. More so, managers of organisations in Abu Dhabi should also keep on rewarding employees annually for exhibiting OCB in their organisations.
