Abstract
  • Keperluan praktis kerja sosial untuk menangani isu sosial seperti penderaan kanak-kanak, jenayah dalam kalangan kanak-kanak, pengabaian warga tua, gelandangan, pengemis jalanan dan masalah sosial yang melibatkan remaja menyebabkan pentingnya penguasaan piawaian pendidikan kerja sosial agar pelajar mampu mencapai kompetensi kerja sosial. Kepelbagaian bidang tugas pekerja sosial ini memerlukan pelajar program kerja sosial memerlukan latihan yang komprehensif dan terlatih untuk menjadi pekerja sosial. Penyediaan kurikulum adalah perlu menepati ciri-ciri program kerja sosial yang berkesan ke atas pelajar agar mereka kompetensi dalam praktis kerja sosial. Satu kajian telah dilakukan untuk mengenal pasti ciri-ciri program kerja sosial yang ditawarkan di universiti mampu memenuhi piawaian pendidikan kerja sosial oleh CSWE. Kemampuan pelajar menguasai piawaian pendidikan kerja sosial ini akan melahirkan pekerja sosial yang berpengetahuan dan berkemahiran dalam penyampaian perkhidmatan ke atas individu, kumpulan dan komuniti. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif dengan melibatkan seramai 279 orang pelajar tahun akhir yang mengikuti program kerja sosial di universiti awam. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan, pelajar telah mengikuti ciri-ciri program kerja sosial yang ditawarkan di universiti awam selaras dengan piawaian pendidikan kerja sosial sebagai profesional, nilai dan etika kerja sosial dan kepelbagaian klien.
