The primary purpose of Zakat is to foster equitable economic development. Zakat is significant both in the Islamic religion and in the economy. Despite 92% of Bangladesh's population practicing Islam, the handling of zakat in the country is very inadequate. A marginal percentage of people meet their zakat duties, and an even lesser amount exhibit concern for them. The methodology for paying zakat differs markedly from those of other regions globally. Social work entails aiding individuals in surmounting poverty and facilitating beneficial changes within their communities, Zakat aims to fulfil these objectives. The principal goal of this finding is “The Role of Zakat Collection and Distribution for the economic Growth in Bangladesh”. The study aims to illustrate the efficacy of Zakat as a pragmatic method to mitigate poverty and promote economic development nationwide. The methodology depends on a comprehensive analysis of existing research, a meticulous evaluation of the literature, and an appraisal of secondary data. The Quran, regarded as the divine word of Allah (SWT), asserts that individuals who possess faith, undertake righteous deeds, observe the ritual prayer (Salat), and contribute alms (Zakat) shall receive recompense from their Lord. They will not encounter dread or discontent. Zakat offers a viable means in escaping poverty and enhancing their employability.
