Abstract
  • The study determined the level of conceptual knowledge and proficiency in mathematics of grade 12 senior high school students. Using descriptive correlational research method, the study involved 74 grade 12 senior high school students in the University of Eastern Philippines Laoang Laboratory High School during the school year 2019-2020. This study used a questionnaire as its instrument in gathering the needed data which were statistically treated using frequency counts, percentages, and Pearson’s Correlation. The level of conceptual knowledge of the respondents were moderate for addition, subtraction, division, comparing, and types of fractions, low for multiplication and order of fractions, and very low in mathematics involving fractions. There is a significant relationship between the level of conceptual knowledge and the proficiency level in terms of division, ordering and identifying the types of fractions.
