Faktor penerimaan teknik penanaman padi secara Sistem Intensifikasi Padi

Abstract
  • Beras merupakan komoditi strategik bagi negara kita kerana ia merupakan makanan ruji bagi penduduk Malaysia. Penekanan bagi meningkatkan pengeluaran beras domestik bagi menjamin kecukupan bekalan beras telah dinyatakan dalam Dasar Agromakanan Negara, 2011-2020. Peningkatan pengeluaran beras melalui penambahan luas penanaman padi bukan langkah yang berkesan, memandangkan tanah merupakan sumber yang terhad dan berhadapan dengan tekanan persaingan dengan sektor industri. Oleh itu, salah satu langkah alternatif bagi mencapai sasaran ini adalah dengan menggunakan inovasi dalam pengeluaran beras negara selaras dengan gelombang revolusi industri 4.0 (IR 4.0). Inovasi yang dimaksudkan adalah Sistem Intensifikasi Padi (SRI). Kajian ini telah dilakukan secara kualitatif iaitu temubual secara bersemuka telah dijalankan dengan pengamal teknik SRI di Semenanjung Malaysia. Kajian ini mendapati faktor kepada penerimaan teknik ini dikalangan petani adalah peningkatan hasil padi, pengurangan kos pengeluaran, pengurangan penggunaan air, penjagaan kesihatan petani dan dorongan serta nasihat dari agensi kerajaan.
