Abstract
  • The role of leadership is decisive in fostering the performance of human resources. However, the role of servant leadership in UAE government institutions in the UAE remains unexplored. Hence, this study aims to examine the effect of servant leadership on job performance in the UAE workplace. A review of the literature is conducted to understand this relationship. The review of literature shows that servant leadership plays a substantial role in fostering employee performance in many ways due to the significant characteristics of those leaders, such as empowerment, accountability, authenticity, humility, and stewardship. The characteristics of servant leadership contributed to the three principal dimensions of job performance (task performance, affective performance, and contextual performance). The outcome of this study fills significant gaps in previous research by investigating the effect of servant leadership on job performance in UAE public enterprises, a sector that has gotten little academic attention. While past research has investigated servant leadership in a variety of industries, it has not effectively addressed the particular difficulties and leadership dynamics of UAE government institutions.
