As people are living in a complex financial environment, Islamic will has become an important instrument of wealth management that individuals must have to ensure the circulation of their wealth. Despite its significance, many studies reported that many countries in the world are suffering from the accumulation of unclaimed inheritance including Malaysia, which is a problem that requires serious action. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to test the theory of reasoned action (TRA) as well as to examine the mediating effect of attitude in the relationship between religiosity, social influence, and awareness on the intention to have Islamic will. The research design was a quantitative cross-sectional approach gather data comprising 242 university’s academic staff. The data were analysed by Smart PLS 3.0 software using correlation and multi-regression analysis in the measurement model and test relationships among the variables in the structural model. The study has successfully extended the literature of the TRA by integrating religiosity and awareness as make up components of the whole attitude towards Islamic will. Also, the study’s framework has suggested that individual factors such as religiosity, social influence and awareness are significantly mediated by the attitude in the context of intention to have the Islamic will. This emphasis that it should be set on improving the Malaysians perspective to shift towards a positive perception of Islamic will.
