The first five years of a child’s life, often called the golden years, are crucial for rapid cognitive, emotional, physical, and social development. During this period, tracking developmental milestones is essential not only to monitor progress from infancy to preschool but also to identify any potential delays. This study explores how using mixed assessment methods, such as observations, checklists, rubrics, and work samples, can give teachers a clearer understanding of young children’s development. While traditional assessments may overlook key areas, combining various tools offers a more complete picture of a child's progress. The research also examined the challenges teachers face in applying these methods, aiming to improve assessment practices and enhance learning experiences in early childhood education.
