Abstract
  • This review is part of such an effort to reveal and elucidate existing studies on armyworm, Spodoptera litura (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in Malaysia. Despite the insect pest considered as a major insect pest on many local crops but its life table and control studies were still lacking. In fact, there were few studies of S. litura on its preferred host plants and most of the control studies mainly focus on the effects of insecticides and biological control agents. A detailed review on the insect pest relating to its life cycle, host range, damage and control options are discussed.
