Abstract
  • Zaman remaja merupakan tempoh perkembangan yang amat kompleks dan mencabar terutama kepada remaja yang berada di dalam sistem kebajikan sesebuah negara. Kajian-kajian terdahulu sering memberi fokus kepada pengaruh negatif berbanding pengaruh positif dalam kehidupan remaja di institusi perlindungan. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui tinjauan berdasarkan soal selidik yang melibatkan seramai 109 remaja di tiga (3) buah institusi perlindungan Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM). Alat kajian yang digunakan adalah Children and Adolescent Social Support Scale (CASSS), Skala Daya Tahan dan Personal Wellbeing Index-School Children (PWI-SC). Kajian ini dijalankan bagi mengkaji tahap sokongan sosial, daya tahan dan kesejahteraan subjektif remaja di institusi perlindungan JKM. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan tahap sokongan sosial, daya tahan dan kesejahteraan remaja di institusi perlindungan JKM adalah sederhana. Hasil kajian memberi implikasi terhadap praktis kerja sosial dan penggubal polisi dalam membangunkan program dan intervensi yang mensasarkan remaja di institusi perlindungan Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat. Usaha-usaha untuk meningkatkan sokongan sosial, daya tahan dan kesejahteraan remaja turut disarankan melalui penambahbaikan kualiti perkhidmatan jagaan dan perlindungan serta peningkatan kompetensi dan profesionalisme pekerja sosial.
