Abstract
  • This paper explores the alignment between the Program Pembangunan Insan Terpilih MADANI (PPITM), a psychosocial development initiative designed by Faizuddin Centre of Educational Excellence, and the Malaysia MADANI national development framework introduced in 2023. Targeted at asnaf students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who are eligible for zakat assistance, PPITM integrates five key psychosocial components: resilience, self-esteem, self-compassion, social support, and spirituality. Drawing on Islamic teachings, contemporary psychological theory, and educational best practices, each component of the module is examined in relation to the six core MADANI values: Sustainability, Prosperity, Innovation, Respect, Trust, and Compassion. Through experiential learning and cognitive behavioural approaches, PPITM cultivates emotional intelligence, moral integrity, and spiritual well-being, aiming to empower marginalized youth holistically. The study highlights how the program’s faith- driven and culturally contextualized pedagogy contributes meaningfully to the national agenda of inclusive, compassionate, and equitable nation-building. Ultimately, this paper positions PPITM as a viable, strategic model for youth empowerment and social transformation within Malaysia’s broader human development vision. researchers, educators, and practitioners seeking to understand current knowledge structures and identify meaningful avenues for future inquiry in DST-based language education research.
