The teaching of Wayang Topeng Malang characters as the self-efficacy education for students

Abstract
  • The attempt to encourage students to trust and appreciate their skills and provide a comfortable environment in the learning process is an important thing. The capability of students to do the activities that they believe they can do, students have a high level of self-motivation. The implementation of a sense of self-efficacy in teaching can be implemented through the use of Wayang Topeng Malang characters. Based on the masks that are used, there are 76 figures in the story of wayang topeng. In psychology dimension, the figures are divided into four categories. They are the protagonist, antagonist, tritagonist, and supporting figures. This study is a form of local culture preservation by introducing wayang topeng in the art subject at school. Through this study, students are expected to understand the characters of wayang topeng figures as the representative of human life characters.
